The 2012 Can-Am Spyder RT-S SE5 is powered by a 998cc Rotax V-twin engine calibrated for touring, delivering approximately 100 hp at 7,500 rpm and 80 lb-ft of torque at 5,000 rpm through a 5-speed semi-automatic (SE5) transmission with reverse. It features a Surrounding Spar Technology (SST) frame, double A-arm front suspension with a 5.9-inch travel, and a swing-arm rear suspension with a pneumatic adjustable preload and 5.7-inch travel. Braking is managed by a foot-activated hydraulic system with 4-piston calipers and 250 mm discs up front, and a single-piston 250 mm disc at the rear, complemented by ABS, traction and stability control. The trike measures 105 x 61.9 x 58 in (2,667 x 1,572 x 1,473 mm), has a wheelbase of 67.2 in (1,708 mm), a seat height of 30.4 in (772 mm), ground clearance of 4.5 in (115 mm), and a dry weight of 929 lbs (421 kg).
